CVS Forums

Harrogate & Area Council for Voluntary Service facilitates various Forums. These are multi-agency partnerships bringing together users of services, carers and representatives from voluntary and community groups and statutory agencies to exchange information and ideas to improve local services. Two of the Forums that have contributed to the development of this guide are:

1. The Harrogate & District Children & Families Forum which aims to bring together a wide range of people to share information and ideas about issues relating to Children and Families. The Forum aims to provide an opportunity for people to keep up to date with local developments and promotes two way communication between the Forum and organisations that plan services. The Forum also produces a newsletter to update a wider audience on developments and Forum meetings and organises open events.
   
2. The Harrogate & District Children & Young People's Mental Health Group which brings together a wide range of people to share information and ideas about issues relating to child and adolescent mental health in Harrogate District. The Forum plays an important role in identifying gaps in local services and informing strategic planning processes.
   
   One of the gaps identified in the Forum was a lack of information about sources of help and advice locally which led to the production of Express the Mess.
